There's a documentary floating around the country right now about the real cats that Scarface and Miami Vice were inspired by. It looks pretty thorough from the trailer, but I missed it when it was here last weekend because it was sold out. Anybody seen this?

    what is usenet about? you have to pay to use it? i'd love a download... this is something i would add to the DVD collection if it were released, but that might be a while and it's only in selected theaters on selected dates, unless you're in NY or 305.

    i saw it in the theatre at sunset 8 here in hollywood. That shit is ill!!!

    Im surprised its not generating more hype. Everyone I tell about it has gone and seen it.

    I downloaded it and then went and saw it in the theater. Shit is fucking hardcore.

    I recommend the fuck out of this movie unless you are a rapper.

    Normally you would unrar 'those 30 or so .rar files' into one large file, probably a avi. But I haven't d/l this torrent so i couldn't say fo sho.

    There should be one main .rar file simply called "mvs-cowboys.rar". It's only 14.8 mB, but if you unzip that one first, it'll unpack the whole shabang as one 700 mB .avi file. Worked for me. Thanks for the heads up on this, looks interesting.

    yeah i did that, said it was missing codecs trhe first time, i tried it again and then it would only play the sound in windows media player, and when i tried to burn it to DVD i got an error. Any more suggestions or any way you can help? Thanks.

    I definitely wanna check this out. It's playing at Landmark Century in Chicago right now along w/ Fast Food Nation, Unknown, and a few others.

    I wanted to see it over the weekend but my girl wasn't feeling the subject matter, so we opted to check out "Unknown." It was decent...a couple suspect moments, but in general it had a enough plot twists that made it interesting.

    I used stuffit (I'm on a mac) for the unpacking. I'm playing the .avi file with VLC. Plays with no problemo. If you haven't already, I recommend trying to play it in VLC. It's cross-platform, open-source and will play almost any audio or movies you throw at it (except Windows Media files).

    The first 30 mins I saw were pretty interesting.

    hey thanks for the VLC link, I am watching this at work (finally something to pass the time) and this shit is bananas. Very thorough, as I expected. Cool footage, very well made. If this is in theatres in your area, I highly recommend going to check it out when it's there.

    shit was a dope watch. i wasnt even born yet when most of this shit was going on but im kinda amazed at how many bodies they were dropping during those times. and the amount of money dudes were clocking just by transporting the shit? god damn!!

    man I was a little kid at the time but I remember watching the news with my parents in the early 80's and miami was always deadbodies and helicopters filming shootouts. As a kid I never thought of miami as a vacation spot. I always thought that was where you went if you wanted to die. Fucking 600 murders a year is goddamn insane.

    i aint giving you a 100% guarantee but as long as it isnt running when you are using microwave and you dont download something bad in the process, you should be fine
