Since moving to Philly, it used to be 9th St. Records until it closed down this month. I have no clear favorite anymore. I guess Long in the Tooth, just because the dude's nice as hell, gives a healthy amount for CDs/vinyl trade-in, also appeals to my cult DVD side, and doesn't think ebay/popsike prices = what his pricetag on a record should be. Marvelous is up there for similar reasons (replace cult DVDs with comic books).

Also, to rep my Central Florida upbringing:

Greater Orlando - Park Ave. (Hey Calvin)
Brevard County - Play It Again in Melbourne

Toronto's got great reckid stores, I've scored in every one of them.

right now though, i would have to say Slinky Music - 442 Queen West. Their used section RULES (selection/prices/frequent additions), they have nice exclusives for their new stock (Black Jazz catalogue), have live acts (bands and DJs) and they have an espresso counter in the place!

Lost and Found - 974 Bathurst is my favourite used record store right now.

I used to live just down the street from that, above the video store on the west side.

I saw them unloading records into the store before it opened, but then I moved out and never checked the place out. I'll have to go back.

If you're around the area I'd suggest checking out Grapefruit Moon's curry chicken wraps - or do I remember you being veggetarian? Anyways I miss that hood I'm going to have to go back and swing through Cheapos (errr.. Sonic Boom) and hit Lost and Found.

Also in the area: Jamaican Patties from the bakery in the Bathurst Subway station, downstairs. Best in the city, in my opinion. Fuck I'm getting hungry just thinking about it..

SHowdown time. Everybody pick 1 favorite spot in your city.

Now that arons is gone from l.a., (R.I.P.) I gotta go with freakbeat on ventura.

weren't you talking yin-yang about Arons before it closed?

I'm going to have to say Buena Park Record show is the LA spot!

A couple years back I woulda gave it up to Cantebury records in Pasadnea.

They cared nothing about their vinyl and any non-dixieland or classical LP usually ran under $3

I used to go in there with a twenty-one dollars and come out with w twenty sack and all the records I wanted.

    Dammit now I'm misty eyed

sure, its easy to complain when it was open. But now that its gone, it was the best spot.

and i always gave arons props even in my posts bitching about it.

Kolaportid weekly flea market near the harbor in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Not a lot of record shops here but this flea market has been generous these last few weeks. Last pickup I made was this for roughly $3.
