its officially friday where i am so this must be the place to be...
a friend of a friend connection got me into a house in a part of town where i probably dont belong, but i was made an offer i kinda couldnt refuse - $X takes everything, but that means clean off the porch of all records, including several thousand horrible ones. 90 minutes of toxic grime exposure and i was out, then a whole trunkload of poo was quickly sifted thru to make sure i didnt bury anything good, then it was left at the amvets dropoff because it was mostly coverless trouble, christmas records, broken stuff and and mold madness. BUT.... the goodies i kept in the back seat are r e a l good...
nat kendrick + the swans = JBs before they were the JBs.
1st impressions record 'jerry butler + the impressions'
Nard is a double, PM 4 trade
Odell is a trader too (*paupers + pretty things not from the porch deal)

haha.. yes it is. its pretty scratchy but i played it all the way thru both sides and those deep groove blue notes will suprise you time and again... no skips and it sounded alright! looks like a g- 2 plays like a vg- 5. some tracks were actually pretty nice sounding. Im keeping it, i cant resist the lure of the raer in the collection.
Kind of an oddball group of LP's - just a few random things from picking around town over the week ... a few expected heavyweight mailbox joints didn't show on time
That Bola Sete album is pretty killer. Larry C is a pretty sick live set with just a trio of him, Chuck Rainey, and Pretty P.
Les Moore - Loner Folk Live at the Zebra - KILLER comp Hard Rock FUZZ/ Funk (Bloodrock & War covers) Black Rain - Soul Boot - Hard Rock Zep Dyckman-James - Doomed Loner Folk (unknown) Emerald City - Southern Prog Post-Companion (TN) Treefrog - Hard Southern Rock Wyatt Brothers - OK southern rock
Vinicius & Toquinho LP Philips 1974 Carols Lyra 10" RCA 1971 Charlie Mariano w Chris Hinze Como 1973 Black Lion Miroslav Vitous Mountain in the Clouds LP Atlantic 72 Linda Lewis Lark LP Reprise 72 an aiight De wolfe Minty Al Green "I'm still in love with you" and Beach Boys "Smiley smile" LPs to round out those puzzling holes is my crates..
From a couple of stores over the weekend, plus a couple of h/lights from a recent OZ trip.
The Shuggie Otis, Bobby Humphrey and Donny Hawathaway are all long time wants. The Harvery Mason is quite cool, a little funk-lite, easy listening in places, but it's def. a feel-good keeper. Nice to find two Roy Ayers locally as well!!
The Harold Alexander is growing on me, (def. takes awhile to get started) and is a mint OG copy.
A good haul all in all.
The Dolphy and Lobo are duplicates if anyone wants a copy..Trades welcome. PM me!!!
