more copies of this record will undoubtedly surface. As a matter of fact, a clean copy closed about a week ago
This record has popped up on ebay about seven times this year already. I'm starting to doubt its rarity. I think it could be like Jonny said, not rare, only hard to find. I could be wrong though, but maybe Speed did not have the micro pressings we all believe that they did. BigSpliff has a cover he found in a storage locker hanging on his wall, a kid pulled a copy in front of my face at the flea a few months ago (dagger in my heart), and I know of at least five other people who have it, and I don't know that many collectros. Inflate the price as much as you want and do what you will, but don't be surprised to see it least ten more times this year.
So far I've only decided to bid, and I'm glad I did (considering who the second highest bidder was ). The third highest bidder (irisolmo) just sent me this:
"Subject: It's me Bernadella Olmo re. Chuito & the latin uniques Hi, I hope you remember me. I emailed you a couple of months ago. about my Father Norberto Benbe Carrasquillo. He played w/ Chuito & the latin uniques. I've been trying to get the record but I've had no luck . I was just bidding on it on ebay. and you outbid me. Can you please email me back. I really need your help. Thank you"[/b]
Then I noticed that another copy of the LP was just listed and she's bidding on it so we'll see how that plays out...
And you never explained why my bidding on this record was "suspect?" I was unsure of your genuine interest in the record, so I made the post to see what you would say. (Bid against (the person claiming to be) his daughter again or you're soft. )
My interest was genuine - otherwise I wouldn't have bid almost $100!
It's the price you pay for posting these LP's on Waxidermy, with sound files - of course others are going to be after them once they hear how good they are.
Have you tried offering a CDR to these people? I'm curious, because if they dismissed it outright, like "no, I only want the LP" that would be pretty damn Not saying they shouldn't want the actual album, but you would think a CDR would at least be something for them ... if I had won the album and they had contacted me, I would have offered a CDR to them, but anything on eBay is fair game to the highest bidder, IMO.

I hear you loud and clear. I no longer doubt your genuine interest in owning the record.
As far as his "daughter" goes, she really wants the actual record--otherwise she wouldn't have bid $100+!
She never even asked about a CDR copy and I never thought of offering her one. But I just e-mailed her and asked her if she would like one, so I don't know.
