"The Shoes of the Fisherman's Wife are Some Jive Ass Slippers" best song title evar

I din't list Mingus becuase it was so obvious.

That said. Mingus is easily one of my favorite musicians in any genre any time. period.

& I neeeeeeeeeeds those Ridley and Grimes lps.

Here's one more. For lovers of formulas and L. Ron.

fans of mal waldron's "the quest" should check this out..recorded the next day with the same line up(almost..i think one player is different) also it is Ron Carter's 1st LP as a leader, I believe

I've been playing for 18 years but Mingus is still over my head...

Does it have to be acoustic and raer and old? The are are a couple of Robert Hurst sets and Charles Fambrough that I have that fit the bill. Christian McBride too. Although he does bust out the 'leccy on some tracks. [cue making of crucifixes-with-fingers at arm's length]?

    (praying with eric - )

and I couldn't find a pic, but the Mingus Jazz Workshop "Stormy Weather" or whatever it's called (grey cover, pinkish lettering) with the Original Fables of Faubus, that shit's incredible as well. I celebrate the catalogue as well.

man this shit is somewhat of an elusive gem to me... I've been hearing of this lp for years but have never ever seen it. i am always waiting to cop this shit but it just hasn't happened yet... Is it as good as I think it is?
