plaesed to send the phil ranelin to california. Nice finds man
uM, YEAH. One of the pinnacles of West Indian funk and sutpid raer LP of which I now have 2 copies. Buyer$? Also found their second LP '73
Killer Caribbean soul/funk by the way of "Don't Knock My Love". Has potential to crossover to the soulies.
Underated Trini funk LP.
Hard deep funk from the same group as above. Being session musicians for Sparrow and having their own bands in Trinidad during the big band to combo era made this crew one of the tightest around. Drummers would give JB's a run for their money IMO.
Different group than above - includes Curtis cover "People Get Ready", a Charles Wright cover of "Love Land" and their own "Funky Good Feeling".
Those are first 6 or so pictures.
I'm musically high, K.
I just picked this up as well. Looked promising, but on first cursory listen nothing really jumped out at me. I'll give it another go this evening.
Jesus... you need to retire..
How can you not have enough money for a new computer? You could buy a Cray!
call nasa,
A in FL
I had one too - a while ago. I think there was maybe one track that was OK at best. Definitely not pornofunkfiyah.
you guys are looking at this album and hoping for too much. The only thing that stands out about this soundtrack is the cover art.
What's wrong with the Devil in Miss Jones OST? It's beautiful IMO. Pretty deep music, heavy on the piano, strings, vibes, horn and church organ. Nostalgic atmosphere. Very appropriate for certain moments. No porn funk, that's right. Only one track with a groove and some wakkajawakka. Personal fave.
paul kelly - stealing in the name of the lord
young power - polish jazz 72
kelly lemaier - S/T
beach dudes. ever hear of kelly lemaier? it looks like a really crappy record on k&b out of san juan capistrano and its this black dude that does lounge acts in and around newport beach, laguna niguel, leisure world, etc. ive yet to hear any of these by the way.
well, like I said I didn't buy it.
It was one of those times where you think, "whatever, no big deal"... and then as you're leaving you turn your head and give her a parting glance, wondering what could have been...
It's hard out here for a pimp.
You're making this up - black people do not exist in those cities.
strictly bomar, hammie.
you like how i dug that one up? i dont even know if i used it properly. anyways, double shakka, bra!

that officially knocked me backwards out of my chair.
They didn't let me buy it
but at a spot I was hanging out at, chatting with the
dudes at the counter, some construction workers came in with
a box of records they found while cleaning out a basement...
...almost all rinked, shitty records - except for a NM OG
of this bad boy:
plaese to holler if you decide to sell. tahnks.
I don't think he will (if I may speak for him) , his username is 'soufriere1' and the label that the record is on is called 'soufriere'.
except that for him this would be at least soufriere 2.
Poopseek says $60-$100......I'd be happy to get $20......amazing that it was considered offensive!!
heres some:
+100 other rock nonraer LPs

Yeah, it's a double.
K.
yea, but it is nice to have the cover now!
Does their second LP have a orange-ish cover with some photos of them in the studio getting all funky-like?
