I did this some time ago, but I'm not sure if it'll work. Open the Outlook, in the File menu choose Import & Export. Select Export to a file, click on Next. Now select the first option (the one with .pst option). Click on Next again and select the folder you want to select the content.
for greater compatability, you can export it as a .csv file which you can open with and manipulate in Excel. Either way, Import/Export is the right place to be.
