    Jazztronik - Samurai 12"

This record was thoroughly dissed on the strut.

I still love that track though.

such a taboo subject here. I used to like some of this back in the late 80's early 90's. Like Ten City, God Within, stuff on Tribal America. I thought those were the best sounds of the genre. Haven't been a fan of it since then... although 'Burnin' is good.

Erik Kupper's Planet K is essential.

..and I agree with strut-town with broken beat being shit for the most part but that Jazztronik track is crazy goodness.

There was a long thread on this topic within the past year, but it appears to be gone already...

Found a good-sized collection of this stuff at a thrift and combed through it a month or two ago... got some things named above... its obvious which 80s ones you wanna grab but I get lost in the early 90s... certain names you always check for but there are a lot of 'one hit wonders' in the genre too...

I remember this took like 8-9 months to come out after it started showing up at wmc 2001. Everybody was fighting for the cdr that spring.....

for current stuff, Recloose "Dust" was the song of the year for me.
