and in general you can't fuck with Lee Morgan or Hank Mobely on Blue Note, Charles Mingus on Impulse (or any label), etc, etc. There's a LOT out there. In general I don't try to grab OGs on jazz cos its usually outta control $$$wise. I have a few things, but you can easily go broke trying to get yer lexington address on, OG Prestige/Riverside/etc, etc. But you can catch a lot of quality reissues used for pretty cheep, the whole 180g series from a minute ago, or japanese reissues from the early 90's. The OJC series from fantasy isn't the greatest pressings but they're also worth checking, better sound quality than Killa Kuts at least. Btw, wassup with those T-shirts? Its the new style, bootleg the bootleggers.

It is German based modern/fusion jazz I was introduced to it by an unoticed post on Real Headz originator thread. The guy has collaborated with all the greats: Byrd, Humphrey etc

Gary Bartz - another earth (Milestone)
i'm not sure how sought-after this one is, but i always notice his post-"Harlem Bush Music" lp's getting picked up more than anything. this one's from '68 with pharoah sanders & stanley cowell. HIGHLY recommended!
Joachim Kuhn - sounds of feelings (BYG/actuel)
a highly underrated Actuel session i found recently.
Creative Arts Ensemble - new horizons (Riza)
very, very good early 80's local press rekkid. highly recommended.
Arthur Jones - Scorpio (BYG/actuel)
another underrated actuel joint. highly recommended.

Horace Tapscott - Live At I.U.C.C. (Nimbus)
my favorite of the tapscott lp's on Nimbus (though there are a couple i haven't yet heard). real dope double lp (is there anything better than jazz double lp's?) of some local spiritual jazz. excellent.
Roy Haynes Quartet - Out Of The Afternoon (Impulse!)
great album. dig roland kirk's work on here. and grab the mono press if you can...
my favorite jazz LP of all time...also can be found as an Eric Dolphy title, with psychedelic bubble font on the cover..either way a must have. Also, practically recorded with the same lineup(one dude differs, but I cant rememebr off the top of my head) on the following day was Ron Carter's "Where?"LP, also very very good.
