i bought the Upchurch s/t LP from 3rdstream's set sale. received yesterday, with surprise extras from the boy Stream- 'Bridge into the New Age' and 'Wildflowers' loft jazz vol. 4: extremely good vibes going around Soulstrut right now with heads on the strong lookouts- THANKS THIRDSTREAM! big shouts to you, Gunther Schuller and the whole entiya crew. This cat always has the records i need, whether on Ebay or his set sales. Thanks + peace!!
my local goodwill has been with the medium-raer finds over the past few weeks, despite the massive amount of old dudes searching for lena horne and dr. hook.
yesterday's finds
laura nyro - 1969 reish on verve forecast
calling england - like a diamond (red vinyl private 12" single italodisco/synthpop from early 80s...really cool and it's up for trade if anyone wants)
alla pugachova - (what's the title of this album?) this one was discussed a few weeks back can't find img for it but it's got that killer disco/funk track with all the weird guitar fx.
univers zero - uzed
some other stuff, private press jazz fusion and that osamu record with minnie ripperton on vocals on one track.
Sell that first Bad Religion for $100. I think I sold it for $200 last year.

That BR record is oh so fucking horrible.
Actual review of that record when it came out - "After listening to this I flung it out the window - into the unknown. Horrible."
Maybe I'm in an extreme minority...but the album is not THAT bad. Certainly no "How Could Hell" or "Suffer" but a decent record with those trademark BR harmonies. It's a new millinneum guys...it's ok to like new wave. But, yeah, it goes for bucks only because of who it is.
"alla pugachova - (what's the title of this album?) this one was discussed a few weeks back can't find img for it but it's got that killer disco/funk track with all the weird guitar fx".
-"The Mirror of the Soul" on Melodiya? Love that LP and she looks great on the cover to boot.
I think that series is highly underrated, quality out/spirit jazz LPs that you can still get for cheeep.
Cosign on the Sylvers LP, whoever posted that. Sylvers II is the shee-it, and I still need Sylvers III...can't really get behind the disco LPs, but in the beginning they were 'We Can Make It If We Try'...that's my jam.

he bought all the Julie Londons they had and gave me dap.
WRECKOGNIZE FUCKERS!
Whats up with that one DougieFresh? Looks cool.
...that font is killin' it!
Here's an MP3 of their version of the Bert Berns song Van Morrison and Them
had a hit with as Here Comes the Night: The Exciters - There They Go
Also finally grabbed a copy of this one, after passing over it for years,
partly because it was always pricey and because I never was into the hit song all that much...
but a cheap clean promo copy was hard to ignore,
and when I looked closely and realized that it was a Huey Meaux production, I jumped on it.
That dude keeps it real with the LA/TX sounds:
