Holiday Drank (Booze related)

Hey I am trying to stop at the store and make some festive cockatils for the folks tonight. I am not into eggnogg or any candy cane type of stuff. Anybody got any thing they can recommend?

I know I got it on my mind too.....need to leave work.....normally I will drink Gin out of a dirty shoe but I got some folks coming over and wifey's trying to be festive.

Hot buttered rum is kind of seasonal and you can buy an OK batter for it at the grocery store. But if you don't like eggnog that may not be your thing. I like hot toddies as well. I usually use a shot of whisky (bourbon is best), some honey, a decent squeeze of lemon, and float a cinnamon stick right in there. If you use some cognac instead of whisky it is super smooth.

here's an easy one:

apple cider (non sparkilng)
cloves
cinnamon sticks
vanilla vodka (stoli, skyy, etc)

- heat cider just to boil w/ cinnamon sticks and cloves
- add vanilla vodka to taste
- keep in thermos if possible

still on the sweet side, but dang if hot cider ain't right for this weather - (present forcast in the bay: rainy, nasty, etc...)
