    No, no, no, this is not my sister. She is fairly preppy, runs around in ugg boots and 200 dollar jeans. Shes more into non threatening hunky guy acoustic rock than emo shit. I dont even think john mayer is very emo at all. Is he?

    I was just joking about the genre, not your sister. From my understanding, John Mayer not emo, Garden State sdtck very emo.

    And there's absolutely nothing wrong with sad white guys playing acoustic guitars...

    My girl likes that Garden State ost too. I'd say as far as mellow acoustic stuff goes, the first Iron and Wine album is great.



    Also Devendra Banhart "nino rojo" might do the trick. Or either Kings of Convenience albums.

    While I'm biased cuz I personally can't stand him, lemme say that if your sister ONLY listens to Mayer she's not going to want anything to do with Davendra... FAR too tweaked out, lo-fi, and demented... I would absolutely recommend him to fans of Charles Manson though...

    overall worse. i have not listened to it in a long time - i remember maybe a song or two being OK, but I think that first record is not something that can be recreated, you know? it sounds like they tried with the second one and it just did not work.
