Little Sonny ??? Black & Blue LP

    b) new thrift shop that recently opened up had a bunch of LPs for $1 each:

    LA Connection ??? s/t (sealed)
    Gilberto with Turrentine
Joe Brooks and Rosko ??? Morning (Sealed)
Hugh Maskela ??? Alive and Well at the Whiskey
Cal Tjader ??? Soul Sauce & Soul Bird LPs

Basic Yoga and You LP (bought it for the cover)
    Love ??? False Start
Steel Band of Bermuda ??? Sunshine
    Miles David ??? Relaxin??? With???

When I went to pay for them, the cashier called the manager over,

    thats a burner right there!

I went to WFMU today and got some good deals. Cesar decided to sell the rest of his latin records at half the marked price, and a lot of dealers let me talk down their price. I'm sure major deals and steals will go down tomorrow night.

Johnny Colon "Boogaloo 67" (minted up)

    Johnny Colon "Tierra Va Temblar"

La Protesta "On the Right Track"

Joe Quijano "Do Their Own Thing" (minted up)

Dominica y Su Conjunto "El Conejo Bailarin" (Mary Lou records raer, thanks to whoever put it in the jazz bin!)

    Patto "S/T"

    Velvet Underground "Loaded"

    Bonnie Dobson "Good Morning Rain"

Gil Scott -Heron/ Brian Jackson "Winter in America"

Kool and the Gang "Music is the Message"

Bobby Womack "Across 110th St. OST"

Felix the Cat "The Adventures of..." (gotta get something for the seed)

This is my first ever post in a finds section! Now that I'm no longer dealing, I happy to go public with the heat:

Apparently there are records in Fredericton.

    Paging Nate B...

No $$$ for digging this weekend - and I need to hold off until the vinyl show near me at the end of the month, where deep pockets will be essential.
However, couple of e-digs arrived in the mail just in time to feed the monkey on my back.
Freddie Scott Lp above is my personal palest of white whales - and after hoping to see it in a bin for years with no luck, those museum-quality archivists at Best Sound Records in Japan threw this sealed copy up on the Bay. I got it for a relative steal. Killer soul LP on the powerhouse Shout label, including a bunch of tracks that weren't on any of Scott's many 45 releases for the label.

Anybody who wants to hear this album, just, well...

  • I came up on a nice pair of jeans that where on sale (shit made my weekend so far)

    as well as

LTG Exchange (w/ Water Bed )

That Kon & Amir edit 12'' of "soul on your side" and "don't fight the feeling"

That old Leon Hay wood with the "G Thang" sample (I've never really seen this record out. Actually some nice Hi Studio type tracks)

    T LA rock album

    Eazy E's Ez Duz It

and some 12'' called "blow up the dj". Don't know how it sounds yet

    and for the MPC:

    F**** *****

    S***** *R***

about to catch john arnold and ayro ellis tonite. should be

    and earlier this week

I coped a promo version of "Certified" by Banner (TOUCHIN IS THAT SHIT!)

  • For 20 bucks Aron's was good to me and a thrift store was cool too.

Damn, not much at all this week.

    Melvin Sparks- Sparks!
    Yma Sumac- Miracles
    Frijid Pink- S/T (on Parrot)

and after years of avoiding it, I finally broke down to get Dr. Buzzard's OG Savannah Band.

also a grip of private "hip house" records. This stuff is all daisy's, man. Check the b-side for the gangster-ish joint "I Love My Mother". Maybe I'm naive to what was going on in NY clubs in the early nineties, but i had no idea stuff like this was being produced.
