ha...what up maker! I completely forgot about that video, awesome-ness! That dude was a pretty good actor, maybe he had some future there as well...ha.

Yeah, that's true about cabfare. I did a whole radio show on Bob James and him being sampled and I was able to track him down for an interview. This was in like '97. I believe his exact quote was "The bastardized my piece!". He was definitely down…

I hate to seem like the Bob James fanboy here but... There was some often sampled honky who was not down with "the rap." I thought it was him, apparently not. I think it was Bob James, at least that was the rumor. I wonder if that came about beca…

thanx for all the feedback. Im getting some interesting feedback....

De La Soul Del ^^^^ both HIGHLY suspect examples of the sophomore jinx. The point is those are all ones I have heard it applied to that I don't agree with. I know a lot of people and even in some of the reviews for those albums that said that.…

Steady Slangin is my fav joint off Wise's solo Lp. Anyone have a spare 12" of it they wanna slang my way? off that solo album my joint was "freestyle"...he is murdering that verse. Steady Slanging would be second. I just gave my extra two copies …

By the way, though it's not their "classic", I have to say this is my favorite PRT LP. Much slept on. Wise is killing the style on this!

from the looks of it I guess Pase has washed his hands of Scibble Jam Yeah, he's busy doing his own stuff. I actually don't know all the details to why he isn't involved, but yeah he is doing his own thing.

here's a link to download it: http://www.sendspace.com/file/w3lfdc

Isn't this big with the b-boy/Freestyle Session community. I think the homie Cros said his Japanese connect will pay $20-25 for this record. that makes sense. I'll be keeping mine though...ha. I have played it for b-boy competitions before also.

Mele..... here's a 30 second clip of Mele explaing the name thing and why he didn't bother to fix the mistake made by sugarhill for all those years.... http://www.sendspace.com/file/wd0i90
-
Mele..... you didn't know that's how his name was supossed to be spelled all of these years? you from the bronx, homeboy, you 'posed to know that the m-e-l-e m-e-l the man with all of that clentele and when other mc's try to prove a point a-mel…

still got my doubles... Eric V used to cut this up back when it came out. Eric V as in Vaughn? The guy who rapped on "Phunky As Phuck" with Def Jef? I didnt know much about him as a DJ and have wondered what else he did; where he DJed, if he rapped…

Who was the producer behind these tracks? i noticed one of them(the remix)was done by Lord Digga,i always liked his remix for ODB's - "Brooklyn Zoo" thats another dude that should've dropped more than just a single. the production credits are a lil…

yeah, I've been listening and playing them alot lately. Current favorites: "cuttin it up" (another b boy classic) "love to the world" "back in love again" "jam" -ones I've been considering adding to the playlist: "one on one" "stay on the one" "co…

no stretch armstrong fans, freedback, or memories??? don't be shy...ha

thanx for all the feedback. I wasn't up on a lot of this stuff.

Likewise, Pay Ya Dues and what WC was saying was basically the no nonsense Hip Hop code of ethics at that time. If you listen to 'know the ledge' you can hear that some of the chorus cuts are just ripped from the intro to Low Profiles 'funky song' a…

someone asks for these on another site so might as post them here. A couple mixmaster gee shows from KACE that I downloaded from someone, somewhere, sometime ago... http://www.sendspace.com/file/be9s4i http://www.sendspace.com/file/yfa0zr http:…

thanx for all the feedback. The more hear about that station the better it sounds...such a classic time for hip hop radio. I'm a definite mission to find more recordings from kday...

Should I feel bad that I often run the shower 15 minutes before I even get in? Naw, fuck it. I don't even pay for the water in my building. I am definitely guilty of this...I'm could probably not do that..
-
wouldn't that make his solo beats the best because it would certainly stand to profit the most of an album of his own that he did all the work on... Not if sales were flat. You sell a hot beat you got money in hand. yeah, I can see that I was just …

Same can be said for Tony D who is killing the production here. i always wondered why tony d's solo stuff wasn't nearly as good as when he produced for other artists.... maybe thats just me.... are you suggesting that him getting paid for his b…

on the Wise Intelligent solo joint it was cool. I need to peep it again probably but I do know that "Freestyle (A Concious Lyric) is pretty bonkers...
-
Saw this topic and KNEW there'd be a djnikoless post in it. ha, you know my style...
-
you might be on to something here...I can't think of a beat that grabs me off "funky verses"....like the PRT or YZ productions. There is some nice production on that Crusaders for Real Hip Hop though.
-
Yeah, this a great album. Wise Intelligent is a excellent MC and doesn't get enough props in my mind. Same can be said for Tony D who is killing the production here. The sleeper favorite to me is "so many teachers", even if it "offended" KRS One...h…
