    understanding "microagressions" (like, perceived subtle insults that are often given unintentionally) is really important for creating "safe spaces" for vulnerable populations.  i had a masters student who looked at how they play a role in the often very poor quality health care that trans people living with HIV experience.

    but i don't know why these students are applying those concepts in their activism.

  • Stevie touring Songs In The Key Of Life lp live. Anyone seen it?

    Went to see the tour in Toronto this weekend and it was aweeeesome.  Huge production that sounds really solid.  SITKOL is not my favorite album of his, but he kept it interesting by mixing in classics/rarities/bonus stuff.  Like, it was Lennon's bday, so he did a version of Imagine that was so epic that he literally broke down in tears in the middle of it (and I say this as someone who isn't normally into that jam).  

    Really diverse crowd... it was bizarre seeing him do Saturn in front of people like Bob here...
