stop asking questions about it on the internet and put that thing in your car! (unscrew the legs first)

Double degrees for you? yup, but looks like the double is desired, not required. Shit, i don't want to think about this job anymore because it would be SO dope for me but i just can't go there... argh. hope they reach out in the collector comm…

yeah they just posted a job ad for 'head' of this collection, which, considering my background and training, is PERFECT for me. Only thing is, there's no way i'm moving to oberlin!

The Hubbard CTI schitt is pretty hard to defend. Red Clay is listenable, but still pretty slick and uninteresting. ^this^ on the other hand is not true. You don't have to like it, but there is no way a song like "Intrepid Fox" isn't 'interesting'

I just noted in another thread that, to me, Lee Morgan doesn't seem to get the love of other legendary trumpet players (e.g., Clifford Brown, Miles, Dizzy, Hubbard, Byrd, etc.). I really don't think this is true. At least not amongst jazz heads. …

Solar wasn't a popular DJ, and he's still not.

that statement from Premier (on page 1 of this thread) is super classy and

I didn't think we'd still be alive, to be honest. This is the furthest the Habs have gotten in 17 years (and i was still a Nordiques fan) Man alive. Shit is poppin'. This city is on fire. Look out. And pray Markov/Gill don't BOTH return. PK …

dear Montreal peops, you are the shit. you will always have a special place in my heart for knocking the caps out in the 1st round. I will be sorry to have to root against you as my squad eliminates you in the next round. thanks again and peace, -…

that's true- the TV show was ridiculously good. but i don't remember him playing on it at all (which maybe had something to do with the quality ; i only remember him as the host. Sanborn led the house band and played with many of the guests. At som…

2 saxophonists and a trumpeter? hmm. maybe you meant Michael Brecker (since he played the same instrument as the 1st 2 you mentioned) can't really comment on solo discography, but in terms of overall career and musical concept, i'd say Brecker han…

what up with some deep fried poptarts? i guess there's a lot of those around here now that i think about it

definitely looking forward to this! just checked the website and it looks like i have to wait til september for it to come to my town :/

definitely one of the greatest and very underappreciated i'd say his legacy as a bandleader is more important than as a drummer (not to take anything away from his instrumental skills- he was obviously a master drummer)

I am going with Prestige.

You should compare the best BN releases with best Impulse releases. The records that aren't great don't really matter and shouldn't figure in. i disagree. to me, the greatest art and artists enter a realm where trying to rank them in comparison is…

wasn't coltrane on Blue Note as well? one album as a leader
-
i say Blue Note despite Coltrane being my favorite artist ever Blue Note was around so much longer and covered so much more ground also, percentage wise, there are less Blue Notes that I don't care about than Impulse.

Looks like DJ SHEEP. but she's not pointing at anything

The sleeve and label look like they were photographed and reprinted. The record sounds like shit. I haven't listened to it in a while but I remember there were some hissy parts so it's obviously recorded from an original copy that was pretty played…

just the one find for me this weekend, from my local spot, the absolute LAST place i'd expect to have this too: DIE!!

most any version of the Beatles White LP goes for $30+ including the currently in print one... that's not how it is around here- it's still easy to find a cheap used copy of the white album i have to admit to my guilt of sort of taking MJ and J5…
