Allow myself, to introduce myself.
Long time lurker coming out for a little intro. Saw Raj mention more of us lurks should do it, so here goes..
I'm a Brit in LA, but was born in the Bay. Moved to LA 4 years ago. Lived in the countryside of Somerset near Glastonbury before that.
I go by Beatnick Dee. I'm a producer (hence the amazingly unique name I have), also a record/sample dealer and collector. Been digging about 10 years. Worked at Tres Records and Piecelock 70, made songs with rappity rap types and a couple singers over the years, put out an album last year called Creative Medicine.
Big up the strut massive!!
Cheers. -
Skateboarding Nostalgia + Instrumental album
Hey guys
Just wanted to share my new video and instrumental album.
We dug up some skate footage of me and the homies from back in the day, mixed in with some newer stuff
Taken from my project "Order & Chaos" out now - https://soulspazm.ffm.to/ordernchaos
The first half is mellow/soulful, and the second half is much darker, grimy beats. Lots of sampled stuff, and a few original, with some added guitar, bass, keys etc..
Thanks for listening! -

Two unknown Funk & Soul tracks. Any idea?
Sooks said:It's not the second song at all, but this reminded me that I recently picked up an album that had a surprising Mizell + flute sound - The First Cosins Jazz Ensemble:

That record is so dope. Cheap heat. If it was on some private label or with some obscure musicians, it'd be like $50+ imo
