Need some suggestions for a late 50s / early 60s pool party mix

I am assembling a mix with some latin influenced early rock joints. I'm going to have some hits like Valens "Come On Let's Go" and maybe like "La Bamba". What I need however is some darkhorse tracks. Can anyone suggest anything on this tip?

resist the temptation to play Bobby Freeman's "come on and swim" and play the tougher, rawer follow-up "S-W-I-M"..or play both, whatever...both are good early 60s songs about the "swimming" dance craze.

  • my private mindgarden hears 'mama told me' by three dog night. but i think that's because it's in boogie nights.... except that it's marvin gaye's 'got to give it up' is playing during the sweet pool party tracking shot...... but yeah, 'mama told me'.

  • im also aware that im in the wrong time period ....

Off the top of my head:
    - "Hippy Hippy Shake," Chan Romero
    - "I Want Some More," Chan Romero
    - "Wiggle Wobble," Les Cooper
    - "The Hunch," Mad Mike & the Maniacs
    - "Let's Stomp," Bobby Comstock
    - "Wing Ding," Joey Dee & the Starlighters
    - "Stick Shift," Duals
    - "Bertha Lou," Clint Miller
    - "Baby Don't Leave Me," Five Chavis Brothers
    - "Rubberleg Twist," Isley Brothers
    - "Wine Wine Wine," Nightcaps
    - "Emulsified," Rex Garvin & the Mighty Cravers
    - "You Don't Know What You're Doing," R.S. Rankin (unreleased at the time of the recording - AFAIK, only available on the Atlantic blues anthology Texas Guitar From Dallas To L.A.)

EDIT: oops, just saw that you were looking for Latin-influenced tracks...oh well, look up some of these songs on Youtube and see if they can't blend in, at least...
