Haven't had much luck on the raers lately, but I did okay in the Jazz section with the exception of a couple.

Yup, that's like my third copy. It was too clean and too cheap to leave at the store. I bought all but four of those records in one trip. All the rest were just as clean as the Freddy Robinson lp.

    Hey Stratasphere,

There are some other nice ones in there as well (the Herbie Hancock, Oliver Nelson, Bill Evans, for example), but they're more of the 'classic' variety. I noted the Freddy Robinson since it's not one mentioned much on here.

Yeah, I hear you, and it has some nice arrangements and production by Monk Higgins. That's the reason I went looking for it after seeing the credits on my grandfather's Oogum Boogum 45.

Some good pickups, but Rig blows goats, although it looks like it should be good.

yeah, alot of these were blind purchases at the record show so def. hits and misses abound. i highly reccomend that tea company record, has some extended, effects-laden freak outs...

Hello People is pretty weak i used to like the one instrumental.

I really like the Ford Theatre and Damnation, quartermass is pretty tight as well. Looks like a typical record show experience for me where i pick up a few cool things and some things i didn't really need on 10 dollar chances.

a few of the 45's I gripped at the local record fair this past weekend:

never heard of that (Round Robin) Monopoly Ltd 45 before, seems to come between the Round Robin solo stuff of the mid-60's and the Round Robin Monopoly stuff for Stax/Truth in the early 70's. awesome 45 that seems like it should be more sought-after. also that Ferris Wheel track is a killer, and a nice unplayed copy.

Been awhile since i've posted in the finds.
Wanted to do a cumulative one from the last couple months,
but they are all scattered throughout the stacks.
Today was a good enough one day haul to warrant a post.

    Hey CPeetz,

That's a nice haul, man. Hell, I almost included the first joint from that Clarence Reid LP (with the break) on my mix set for the spin party a couple of weeks (but I didn't want to go over my allotted time). The classic break from the title song of the Ray Bryant LP is undeniable (which is why I tapped it for "Jazz and Stuff"). I hit up that Rhetta Hughes record for the "Stacks Gettin' Funky," so that one is solid as well. No need to mention that Charles Wright joint, a definite fave that still gets spins. Enjoy the tunes!!!

    Peace,

Ha, saw those at HPB. I grabbed a Grassella Oliphant and a Solomon Burke and left it at that. Kinda pissed I left the Eddy Senay, but glad that it was you who nabbed it.

They were priced decently and the records were really clean so I grabbed them. The stuff I left behind had beat covers. The Traffic Mania is pretty funky.
