The upside to your sealed phase is that there's more NM LPs safe from your bidding
$800 San Francisco TKO's "Acid Lady" (M-)...no regrets..someone will probably say I could have gotten it for less, but no one came off this record except for a friend of mine!
Damn!
Haha...That was my offer, by the way...just grateful it was accepted. That one is Holy Grail status for me, and I remember all of us discussing what the value might be. I honestly thought I would have to go to Australia or New Zealand to get it, so I still feel as if I saved alot of money. I do still want to go on vacation there some day, though.
Now all I need to do is find Project Ebony and the California Playboys LP.

I'm struck at how hard that Project Ebony is to find - I first learned about it back in 2000 or so and I knew a few cats that combed Vallejo looking for copies.
And that TKOs joint is rugged. Was that on Golden State as well?
For me, I have a jones for the "Herm/Ooh Baby Baby" 7" but I doubt I'd ball out for it more than my current $300 limit.

Nah... he's talking about thew New Zealand only issue of Herm b/w Acid Lady. While the Golden State issue of that is already pretty tough to find, the NZ copy with the exclusive flipside really didn't make its way outside of NZ. I know a dealer here that went to NZ had gripped a dozen or so copies, selling them off at $30 a pop...
just spent $100 on a clean copy of The Escorts "Disco Party" 12" on April...i traded for it so it cost me much less...killer deep disco tune, very hard to find. why not?

Project Ebony - finding that is as close to impossible as you can get. There has to be at least one more out there somewhere, though. There are insanely rare Texas 45s that are easier to find than that one!
I'd say $300 tops is a really good idea for the Herm/Ooh Baby Baby 45, if someone is actually willing to sell. I think someone said it can be had for less than that, but then again, you know how crazy the market is sometimes. I can't get over the idea of someone paying $405 for Gran Am "Get High", especially when I've seen it being sold several times for between $35-130. That was insane. Cool record though. Actually, I love that record but I'm not paying more than $100 for that one.
First time I spent $100 was to get Sisters Love - "Give Me You Love" on MoWest; since then, I have spent more than that amount on numerous occasions for northern/funk 45s.
Ouch!!!
$10.00 for Briamonte, picked up from a street vendor in Rio mid 90s.
Most I've paid for a copy of a record was for the Bong Penera 'A Samba Song' LP from the Philippines back in the early 90s, long before ebay made it possible to find such obscure records. I had to wait about 5 - 6 years to find a copy back then through the dealer networks (back in the days, when mythical records were like tracking unicorns).
I paid $600, probably you can pick it up nowadays for $200 - 250 off the bay!

i love how i havent heard sixty percent of these records. endless music
I'm about to make that same move... now my record money is really gonna be hurting.
Finally, a worthwhile investment in this thread...

$150 a side isn't bad. I want this.
Hey Uncle Sanchez, I was curious about this lp. Is it all[/b] about the "Destroy the Nihilistic Picnic" track, or is there more to it?
Ouch!!!

good deals on those 2! although i heard of peeps coming up on copies of sharevari in NYC for $1-2 a few times mid 90's
I'd glady drop $90 on an OG copy myself
I got my copy in the Kim's 50 cent bin back in 2003 or so...mine is the pressing on Quality/RFC...i'd gladly spend $90 on it though...essential tune!
