Did Warhol do that?
RUN DMC is a great logo, better than most corporate logos.
I have a 15yo friend who sometimes wears band t-shirts from groups of the past.
Since we had a thread about those shirts I asked him who he has and who he sees people wearing.
We decided that RUN DMC and Clash London Calling* were 2 of the greatest graphics and deserved to be t-shirts.
* Which is a nod and a wink to the first Elvis ep/lp graphic.
For most organizations it's important to have one logo and stick to it, but these guys successfully did dozens.

I don't really care for any of them that much.
If I had to choose between the two of Public Enemy and Run DMC, I'd side with Public. They were both great designs that have been imitated and reinterpreted and reused by other people and other things, but the image of that target centered on the man always resonated something in me. The logo was a proper introduction to the kind of music Public Enemy made. I knew what I was about to hear when I saw that logo.
May I also add Prince?! The fact that he made his logo a guitar, or his guitar a logo, is simply amazing to me.
The Ramones
a classic...
I can't argue with that. It's perfect.
It's certainly better than the band, but not by much.
This works:
Technically not a band, but boy did he take his logo seriously! Awesome.
The Boston logo is one of my all time favs
