Then there's the cringe-inducing Anal Cunt. Seriously, I just cringed a bit.

    Moby Grape

I don't think it's a "godawful" name, but when I first heard of Moby Grape at 12 years old and I thought that it was some new grape jam by Smuckers or something.

Are you kidding me?! I have to say, Grateful Dead & Thin Lizzy are 2 of the best band names in rock, imo.

Mr. Mister - This actually may be a good name as the music is as dire as the name implies.
Therapy? - Do they expect people to say their name in the form of a question?
That Dog. - The period is unacceptable.
fIREHOSE - Basically, no band name should have punctuation. Neu! is the only exception.
The one that is like Red Jumpsuit Apparatus or something like that.
Good Charlotte - Charlotte would be more accurate.
Nirvana - Dudes should have known the name was taken.

I wish it was Salt and Pepper.

    Red Hot Chili Peppers
I think it's a "cool" name, but it's so long and there doesn't seem to be an agreed upon nickname. If I said "The Peppers" I don't think it would be obvious what I was referring to. And RHCP is just an awkward acronym.

    Insane Clown Posse

    KoRn

    America
I feel like it's a bit of a bold name to title a band with. Plus, I feel like I always have to clarify, "America the band, I mean the name of the band is America."

    Panic at the Disco

    Butthole Surfers
    I'm embarrassed just typing it.

    .

The lab I work in has a piece of analytical equipment that is referred to as an "ICP".

No matter how many times I hear it I automatically think of Insane Clown Posse.

Mid / late 2010s indie bands have the worst names.

I remember making a list of 'worst band name ever' one day with a friend in hi school (around 2006). We had another friend who was heavy into that stuff and I used to tease him all the time about it. Anyway, I just turned to him and asked:
'Hey, Alex; what are your current favorite new bands?' I suppose he was surprised by my interest in such genres, so he answered with lots of enthusiasm:
'Well, Menomena is probably my favorite right now'. It went directly to the list.

    Others I can think of:
    Confunkshun
    Does It Offend You, Yeah?
    Kashmir
Sonic Youth (I might get slaughtered for this one, but I loathe that name)
