    All my records are expensive.

Although, thanks to Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and lack of Democratic oversite of Fanny and Freddie, this statement doesn't pack as much punch as it originally did.

this thread is so depressing, I thought my deidre wilson tabac OG was baller status but it looks like it's more of a ringside spectator. :(

    Chin-up!

My BEST records are almost never my most expensive records.

  • i missed a non-refundable flight as part of a search for this:

that would make it the most expensive, but not most valuable.

A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.

    - I wrote that myself.

I was given one of these years back by Pablo. Wasn't my thing at all... still isn't. I sold it, got a decent price... but what's the deal now? Is it going for ridiculous amounts? If so, why?

I never get tired of this mix.

It goes for between 30 and 60 quid these days, but I have seen it go for as high as 120.

I think its just because it doesn't show up too often, plus there were only a few hundred pressed.

These aren't pictures of my copies, but probably this:

and quite a step down, this:

If any of you spiritual jazz people interested in trading for the Black Survival joint get at me.

    That I currently own:

Generally, everything worth over $500 gets flipped immediately upon finding (there are obviously exceptions, of course)

i'm pretty sure holmes has a great collection of 45's as evidenced by many a "finds" thread. he posted in a guitar thread and his collection was pretty amazing. to him this thread probably is little dude and i can't blame him for the mock. to me it's fun in a pointless braggy way even if it's over records that are only worth a couple hundred bucks. no need for hurt feelings people.

350 each @ 50 pieces seems a little ambitious.....especially when I read somewhere it was more like 300 copies??

anyway, my shit is little dude status.............i'm not claiming to rep anything mad $$$$......it's competitive these days, and I got in too late in the game >......don't hate on the little dudes

What I respect about Ocky is that he's not all over the interwebs flossing his raers. He does need some cheap crap to fill though shelves to balance out the heat

All of the above and more.
I was lucky to get a super clean copy off ebay for around $250 in 2000, played it out for years and sold it for $800 to a happy customer at last years FMU fair. While it's been 3 years now that I've been liquidating my entire funk 45 and latin soul collection without experiencing any pain in the process, this was probably the one single record out of these that I almost decided not to sell. It's not only a damn good record but it's also one of those rare artifacts that just breathe history.
