in my opinion, his greatest moment. Have had crowds in Europe, Australia and the US singing along with this one... universal love to Nate.

  • I saw people posting Nate Dogg videos on my Facebook feed, and I was thinking that it was because it was his birthday or something. Then when I read the news that he died, I couldn't believe it. I still can't quite believe it, though. Nobody ever tried to sound like him. Mainly because they couldn't. Truly a hip-hop icon that is now gone too soon. Rest well, friend.

Suckage... Can't say I'm totally surprised since he's had health issues the past few years and there were rumors he'd died a while back, but still.... RIP, Nate. So many good hooks and good songs.

I guess it's apropos to post a link to that "Nate In '08" mix from a while back because it's still one of my favorite mixes:

Yeah that would be pretty much enough for legendary status by itself. Still remember the first time I heard him on Deeez Nuuuts, such a great little hook to introduce to what is basically the outro.

    RIP.

Well, I recall he had a stroke about three years ago, and it now appears he never made a full recovery from it. Recovering stroke patients are often susceptible to heart attacks in the first few years afterwards - the same kind of thing happened to my ma.

    RIP Nate.

    RIP to a legend

I think this is supposed to be from an album Curren$y was recording for No Limit...It's not amazing, but I remember thinking that Nate still had it...

    yes,

met him briefly at my job in seattle, at a hotel.
when they were unloading the tour bus,
he came to the bowler hats.
    they weren't in boxes,
and our luggage cart only carried 2 hats,
let's just say nate had more than half a dozen,
    different colors, different fabrics...

what i remember was the urgency with which he asked me to take care of them.
they were more than just part of the costume.
    sentimental value,
i worshipped dude for years before that moment,
and it was so fresh to see his dedication to the game.
whatever the opposite of disillusionment is, that's what i was feeling

so tonight i will drink one for nate and the hats
