Great teachers,

What about propaganda in the schoolroom?
Is it increasing or decreasing? Where? Why? How?

    Biology teachers in much of the country are afraid to teach evolution because of the inevitable crap they'll get from teabagging fundie fucks. And of course the movement to get the anti-science garbage cloaked as "Intelligent Design" into classrooms continues.

    oh geez, I am not articulate enough to explain this very well, but here goes...

    In high school I was taught the Linnaeus biological classification system (KPCOFGS), in college I was taught the phylogenetic tree. The phylogenetic tree is "produced on the basis of sequenced genes" (Wiki), more specifically the small subunit rRNA.
    The, "genomic data in different species can provide evolutionary insight, [however;] they have important limitations. They do not necessarily accurately represent the species evolutionary history. The data on which they are based is noisy; the analysis can be confounded by horizontal gene transfer[9], hybridisation between species that were not nearest neighbors on the tree before hybridisation takes place, convergent evolution, and conserved sequences."     Wiki also states that, "In some organisms, endosymbionts have an independent genetic history from the host."
    Anyway, DNA wrangling doesn't make that such sense because it is very hard to apply in nature, on the human scale.

    I hear University California Davis is not too bad when it comes to Biology. A Chemistry teacher, at UCD, shared this with me.

    I am curious about propaganda in Arts & Humanities though. Like what about character education?
