I havent heard Seba Baby in a long minute, and I recall it not having the smae bite as Foxy Brown even Coffey.

I need to cop and check out again. I recall it being a little bit more Polished BlackEXP sounding.

  • my fave soundtrack...I just love the sound of it and the arrangement...walking basses and echoey percussion, pure mood.

Excellent choice. Definitely one that gets a lot of play here. Super intense, and kind of an overlooked one when it comes to Q scores. I even love the south-of-the-border tune with Gil Bernal on vocals. Perfect mood lightener in between all the creepy jazz. Thanks to waxidoimy boss hcrink for hooking me up with a minty copy of this years ago.

To be honest, Q, Lalo and Ike are probably the soundtrack composers that I keep returning to the most.
That's like the holy trinity right there. I know it's totally played out in jaded collectro circuits, but stuff like Truck Turner is just rock solid no matter how you twist it. Skip Pitts FTW.

Beyond the "holy trinity" of composers, here are some other faves:

    Manfred Mann "Up The Junction"

    Goblin "Profondo Rosso"

Louis & Bebe Barron "Forbidden Planet"

    Armando Trovaioli "Blazing Magnum"

Alain Goraguer "Fantastic Planet" (well, duh)

David Shire "The Taking Of Pelham 123"

    Bob Crewe "Barbarellah"

    Tenebrae

The opening sequences to 28 Days Later with Montreal's Godspeed You Black Emperor and Sexy Beast with The Stranglers' Peaches are both unfukwitable

Not endorsing the whole Heavy Metal soundtrack, but this song here...

  • Any soundtrack with Edda Dell'Orso singing in it becomes a favorite of mine, but my all time favorite of hers is this one.

You remember correctly. It is pretty polished compared to others. I always enjoyed the Coffey best. All are great sound tracks though, Coffey's just a bit grittier, IMO.

Yeah it is pretty slick compared to other soundtracks. I put that one up mainly for the cover art although I do enjoy most of the music on it too. These are a couple more I was recently able to acquire clean and in my price range.

For pure musical enjoyment it has to be:

    3 days of the condor
Les Stances ?? Sophie (barely a soundtrack since it wasn't used in the film)

    and
