From books, movies or music........

Saw Peter Hook perform Unknown Pleasures live last night, ended up in a drunken conversation about fictional places. First thing I thought about when I woke this morning and it's bugging the shit out of me that I can't come up with many. Here's some I remember from last night, add on.

August Bank Holiday Island
Cloud City
Bongo Congo
Candy Apple Island
Kromagg Prime
Shady Pines
Tannhauser Gate

Reminds me of my university which has a building nicknamed the Death Star. And reminds me of when I was in DC and Shady Grove was a stop on the Metro.

  • Valhalla. I guess it's because I was a fan of Wagner's Ring Cycle.

Valhalla is a top golf course in the USA located in Louisville, where the 2009 Ryder Cup was held.

    Hell

It exists. Small town in Norway. Surprisingly they have not capitalized on tourist-trade.

There's a Hell, Michigan. Not much tourism there, either.

Too bad - I posted a link to a zombie festival a motorcycle club there puts on.

I'm talking about the Hell with the Debbil and the worms and the Lake of Shit, though.

I remember watching the movie Animalympics and the downhill skiier, while trying to climb the highest mountain for training, ended up in Dogri-La.

I did yeah, It's kind of watered down though as you can imagine. The crowd did not boogie, which weirded us out no end.
