These ad's are pretty great, and I gotta think they're helping Old Spice sales. Give this dude a TV show already.
Also, the Making Of video on youtube is kinda long, but its crazy that the original ad was actually one long shot. Crazy automatic horse mounting device ftw!

that "Making of" video is
these response videos w/the character are brilliant. great way to build off the viral success of the OG, gotta suspect Old Spice is pretty pleased.
Isaiah Mustafa (born February 11, 1974)[1] is an American actor[2] and former wide receiver for the NFL[3][4] signed as a rookie with the Seattle Seahawks in 2000 and NFL Europe.[5] He gained sudden and substantial fame in February 2010 as the result of a popular Old Spice TV commercial, The Man Your Man Could Smell Like, including other commercials featuring his deadpan monologues.[6][7][8][9] He recently signed a talent deal with NBC due to the attention he garnered from the commercial.[10]
1) I was entertained, and I'm happy for the actor that he'll get to work on a show, etc.
2) I have a hard time being too excited about commercials. I mean, at best, they are entertainment designed to sell me deodorant. There's something about this that I've always been able to enjoy (yes) but can't get all about, etc.

I work in television. Go figure.
meh.
half the shows on TV & movies in the theater these days are also designed to sell something (other than the film/show itself).

Oh yeah.. no doubt.
I'm embracing my own contradiction here with the, "b/w"....
Still, though, I have a hard time holding up an ad as great entertainment. and, I don't think unspoken/obnoxious product placement is anything close to "artistic," progress.
I'm pretty impressed with how many they did today just on the fly (Maybe 30-50???) ... Answering peoples questions almost instantaneously is pretty next level.
yeah I gotta give them props for doing it virtually real time
Are you sure those were actual questions they received in real-time and not some fake ones they planted amongst the real ones in order to make their responses seem spontaneous?

Could be possible. Tho, looking over the questions he answered on reddit, many of the users he replied to have been users for 2 years or longer.
I'm betting it's more likely they had a few props and lines set up to fit the bill.

Someone asked him to do something for voicemail. Chop up the audio to make your own.
