Stepped in a tarball today

They're everywhere on Venice Beach today, along with a brown foam on the surf. What is going on? Another oil spill?

    there is always oil naturally leaking into the ocean from cracks in the earth's surface, just not in huge quantities like in the gulf

    I'm aware of that, but the number of tarballs present combined with brown foam on the surf points to a larger quantity of oil than would occur with natural seepage.

    On Oregon beaches tar balls are typically the result of fuel from ships. Wrecks, spills or dumps.

    I'm not going to rest -- and none of the gentlemen and women who are here are going to rest -- or be satisfied until the leak is stopped at the source, the oil on the Gulf is contained and cleaned up, and the people of this region are able to go back to their lives and their livelihoods.




    And by "not rest," I mean I'm going to play a full 18 holes without stopping before hitting the back 9.
