    The groom entered to Johnny Griffin's recording of "Black is the Color (Of my True Love's Hair)." Neither one of us has black hair (in fact, as has been pointed out more than once, I don't have hair at all), but we both really love the song.

    The bride entered to Archie Shepp's "You Are What This Day Is All About." I could see from the top of the aisle that the dissonant opening provoked some baffled expressions. Headz that did not know the deal looked like they thought something had gone very wrong.

    The newlyweds exited to Dexter Gordon's "Soy Califa"

    First dance was to Lionel Hampton's recording of "A Taste of Honey," with Ben Webster.

    And, yes, despite what I thought were very specific instructions, the DJ did play both "Celebration" and "Bust a Move."
