Peanut Butter & Bacon on White Bread.

It sounds gross but I assure you it's a burner.

if you like sandwiches - you need this documentary in your life, rick sebak, pbs - he hits up classic sandwich joints in almost every state - this could also go in the feelgood documentary thread

Take a marble rye, cut it in half like it's a giant hamburger bun.
Olive spread on both sides of bread.
    1/2 lb Prosciutto
    1/8 lb Provolone

    Share or don't

i'm from philly. a sandwich town indeed.

my friends and i held a 'pierogie hoagie' party last fall down in my hometown.

we got Sarcones rolls which philly people know are the one and only hoagie/cheese steak rolls to abide by.

we then got tons of pierogies from Pierogie Kitchen in Roxborough.

we fried the pierogies and to that we let people fix their own pierogie hoagies on the rolls with whatever they wanted that we provided on the buffet table, from cilantro, carrots and sriracha to provolone cheese, pink lady apple slices, saut??ed broccoli rabe, roasted peppers, hot and sweet peppers, avocado, peanut satay sauce, prosciutto, etc. etc. it was a do it yourself bonanza. and a definite crowd pleaser and successful party.

    Pork chop triple decker bonanza
Chop a porkchop in half length wise and marinate it in apple juice/apple cider vinegar, salt pepper
Throw it in a pan with olive oil and sear to brown (add tadnoori mix and maple to glaze if you want)
Remove it than green onions and red bell peppers cook in that...drop some sherry to deglaze
Add prosciutto and fry it up like bacon until crispy

First slice of bread gets pesto mayo, tomatoes and lettuce
second slice has sunny side maro and prosciutto, bottom dijon mustard
bottom slice is dijon, hot peppers and the pork with fried onions

    VOILA!

That was my summertime jernt back when I was a kid. We'd be cooking up bacon so the rest of my family could make BLTs, and I'd just rock a PB&B like what?!?!

Jelly (any flavor), graham crackers on white bread. Simple but GOOD.

A glorified grilled cheese, but delicious nonetheless: Use tomato basil bread from Panera with muenster. Lightly coat outer sides of bread with olive oil. Sliced tomato and additional fresh basil optional.

I'm a sandwich type guy, but I wont claim any originals.

    Rachel:
Pastrami, coleslaw, Swiss, rye, mustard. Best grilled.
(The old forum has my recipe for making pastrami and coleslaw.)

When we are on the coast, for breakfast we eat:
fried egg, ham, cheese, on a bagel all hot greasy and drippy.

    Hillel:
Horseradish on matzoh. Invented many centuries before Sandwich had an Earl.

i don't set out to make one of these, but if i have leftover bacon, it's going in a pb&b. i generally add a little honey as well.
