This came to mind while writing a short thing about Gang Starr's "Just to Get a Rep" b/w "Who's Gonna Take the Weight" but what would be some of your all-time greatest hip-hop singles based on the strength of BOTH sides. The main rule is that both sides have to be heat and recognized as such. Remixes of A-side songs don't count. Has to be a separate B-side song. So, for example, besides that Gang Starr single, you could make the case for Biggie: Juicy b/w Unbelievable.Discuss.

Super Lover Cee & Casanova Rud--"I Gotta Good thing" b/w "Gets No Deeper"
Also, "After the Laughter" b/w "Protect ya neck" or "Protect ya neck" b/w "Method Man" depending on when you got turned on to the Wu.
Gang Starr - Suckas Need Bodyguards / The ? Remainz
this one's interesting cause the ? remainz isn't featured on a regular album of Gang Starr.
you can basically take every 12" from a so called "classic" album and the b-side is normally dope too.
I just thought of Diamond D - Sallys Got A One Track Mind - Check One Two even though i have to say the showbiz remix is actually doper than the actual b-side!
plus -------------- Juicy / Unbelievable
I thought of this record, but the two classic tracks on there are accompanied by "Suckas Need Bodyguards" that to me, is not so classic.
Black Moon: "Who Got The Props" b/w "Fuck It Up"
The Nonce: "Mix Tapes" b/w "Keep It On" & "Eighty Five"
off the beaten path is the EdOg "love comes and goes" 12 and Kurious "i'm kurious" cause of the good main track, the great remix and the greatest bside "mansion and a yacht"
While those are good songs, the love comes and goes 12" blows cause it has no instrumental on it, which that beat is too good not have.
Honestly, all their singles from that era were pretty much double A sides, IMO. All the way up to "Tougher than Leather" album. ALL THAT SH*T was FIRE!!!
