    and while some may think a 1974 release date is a bit early for a Modern Soul LP, Lou Courtney's "I'm In Need Of Love" is, IMO, a Modern Soul (non-boogie) classic.

    I was having this debate with the_mack a little while ago. He claims it can't be modern soul cause it came too early.



    In the end I think we decided to call it proto-moder soul.

    i really think Al Johnson-Back for More is the best modern soul lp i have ever heard. absolutely gorgeous album

    Anyone have a copy to go? I am in need.
