Please to educate me on this band. They have a surprisingly extensive Wiki post for their (one?) album. I became aware of them when checking up on one of my favorite bands (Broadcast) and it was noted the musical similarities. I feel slightly embarrassed to say i can't recall ever hearing this band before.Terrific music?or TURDriffic music?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_United_States_of_America_(band)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_United_States_of_America_(album)b/wtake this to weirdrecordsthatsuck.com?

    It's all about "Cloud Song."

Such a good album. It reminded me of a more drug induced, expiremental and sophisticated Free Design.
The cd re-release insert has some good info from Byrd. From what i gathered, he wasnt really a rock musician to begin with. The art movement he was involved in exposed him to the idea of starting a band. They did a few live shows and the album never really promoted well. I dont know the whole story, but interesting stuff. Cloud Song is rad, and I really like "Coming Down" too.

What's "The American Metaphysical Circus" like?

If you've not heard the U.S.A. record yet, prepare to find Broadcast a lot less interesting.

I had Metaphysical Circus filed for years just because, but when I actually pulled it out and played it last year I could not even get through the whole album.

The bassist on the self-titled record's cover looks SERIOUSLY INTO IT.
