on a related note... i was real pleased with jay's old verse "we rebellious back home yelling leave iraq alone to all our boys overseas we wish you safe return...only love wins wars when will they learn..." oddly enough, while i waited tables one night at a big function (i was working for a catering company) i duly noted that the djs version omitted that verse. several radio stations did too.
the fact that Jigga can grab what a whole bunch of ppl are feeling and put it in a simple format with out the meaning being lost is whats great....Think about it...some academic could write a whole essay on Obama getting elected and Jay just said it in one verse....
