I get that the economic situation means way less tax revenues this year, but they should be redirecting some of the federal money buying "homeland security" hummers in Indiana and Kansas to the MTA, cause this shit is abysmal.
In 2003 it was discovered that the MTA had two sets of books, (their internal one showing a $500million surplus), cooked in order to pass a fare hike. Article link Investigation went nowhere. Shady accounting for real. Should've stayed under different companies, INT's, IRT's, IND's, etc.
