For real, go to the local swap meet or antuque mall and just dig around like we do for wax but dig for a really dope old piece of furniture or a bar and then have a carpenter tweak it for your equipment. I seen PJ's bar it's super dope.

I found a flyer in a record store in philly for a guy who made custom record shelves. I paid $90 for a real nice unfinshed peice holds about 900 records. it was well made counter sunk screws real nice lumber. The prices on that site are crazy. I do like that they have wheels, but I question if plastic wheels can handle all those records. The expidit from Ikea is only $100.00.

Exactly! I found this sick ass bar the other day at this spot and they told me they pulled it out of the Flamingo casino in Vegas in the 70's. It was like a million small mirrors covering it and it had a crazy shape to it. If I had the space I probably would have been into it, it also carried a 12,000.00 price tag!

You could get creative though, those cabinets on that site probably cost about $100 or less to make! Then you could paint or cover it with a brushed aluminum or what ever you desire. I have seen some pretty ill custom booths made out of pvc as well.

the hanging coffin (minus the chick) looks dope and saves space, but is it practical? my guess is that when you scratch it starts swinging back and forth.

I just went with this stainless steel restaurant kitchen table:

24x48, incredibly sturdy, you can adjust the undershelf as high as you like for amp, etc.

I scoped a bunch of different makes and this company had the best design and construction.

The only downside is that cords are visible.

I was at FRYES electronics yesterday and they sell chrome plated snakes to hide wires! Could be a nice set up with this table.

All I have to do is fork out the couple of grand for the re-inforced ceiling work and buy the bolts to fix it to the wall to stop the shit from swinging around and I've almost got a real table!!

I've been working on plans for a dj booth based on the battle style setup from dualsf. I went and priced 3/4" birch 4'x8' plywood sheets at Lowe's for around $42 each. A booth 48" x 24" x 36" will require 3 sheets. With glue, castor wheels, and wood screws the whole thing couldn't cost more than $150 total. The cuts aren't really difficult either. It just requires having the tools to do it, like anything else. Hopefully I can get started on mine within a couple weeks and post pictures and the final plans to make it.

That's Club Deep. I've played there before. One of the nicest DJ booths in the city, and a fucking BOWEL-SHATTERING system to boot.

whats wrong with plywood? i wouldn't build record shelves with CDX plywood, but some nice one good side or two good side plywood would look proper. plywood would be a lot better than the MDF the ikea shelves are made out of. and you will be paying through the nose for some hardwood ish. the eames fucked shit up all day with plywood, some of the best (and most comfortable) furniture to come out of that period.
