Since TonyTripleDouble had a little 'Strut help on his stove quest, I figured you guys could help me pick out a decent vacuum cleaner.b, 21b, 21My Hoover Power Drive went from suck to sucks. All I need is a basic cleaner to give my carpet a once over every couple weeks but man, these new machines are intimidating! They all look like evil robots! And I am NOT trying to spend $400 on something that'll try to kill me in my sleep. b, 21b, 21Any suggestions in the $60 to $100 range?

    I picked up a Eureka at Target on sale during x-mas time last year. It's probably a $70 vacuum not on sale. It works good. no bags, has good suction, easy to fix clogs, easy to dump dirt. b, 21b, 21Hit up target. b, 21b, 21b, 21If you wanna get major with it get one of those dyson shits.

    If you can find an old Kirby vaccum at a thrift or flea market buy that and it will last you for the rest of your life. I use a Kirby from the sixties and it's a champion.

    i bought a hoover hygiene with hepa (oxymoron?) a scant 3 days ago.. it's da bomb. the head vibrates the carpet and lifts all the crap up out of the pile, kinda like when you knock your herb bowl on the carpet and flick the carpet with a finger onto a piece of paper to get the spilt weed out, it glides over carpet like an air hockey table.. lifted so much crap out of my carpet it filled the bagless tube thingy up in about 15 seconds.. b, 21b, 21b, 21

It lacks the versatility, is harder to empty and cleans no better than the $200 hoover that we still have, but stored because my wife somehow though a Dyson could do magic.b, 21b, 21That said, I guess the SimpleHuman thread is next, yes?

    Forget the fancy 'super designed' vacuums. Save up a little more money, buy a Miele vacuum, and rest assured for mad years.
