Just got a Micro Track II recorder

Seems simple enough to use. I decided I would get to the club early tonight and rock a super dope set and record it. So I get there and walk in and there is some guy deejaying and a huge popping private party! So long for recording a set. Doh! Anyways I get on at 10PM for the "Regular" Thurs. night activities. Super off the hook tonight for some unknown reason. Three girls had no panties on and kept flashing me and my homeboy in the booth. CRAZY!!! Anyway I recorded my set just so I could learn how to use this nifty little device. I'm listening to the playback right now and it is clear and sounds great however jumps and skips like a homo on pride day!!! Wtf? Can anyone chime in and let me know what the problemo may be? levels too high perhaps? Please let me know the dill. Limiter was on and set.

    When you're saying "jumps and skips" do you mean like when a cd is scratched, or are you talking about clipping? It records to CF right?

    sorry, slightly related- I've got an Edirol R-1b,121b, 21Bit chunky but unfortunately not very robust (I've had 2) and even the power supply has failed on my current one. They're not that well made in my opinion either, the plastic case doesn't fully seal but the recording quality is fineb,121b, 21a Roland specialist repairer told me they were good quality and rarely had any in for repair etc. but he said the R-09's are ruddy awful and should be steered clear of!b,121b, 21but when everything was working I couldn't really complain about the recording quality...

    according to my hommie with the Micro Track (he's jealous you have the MT2):b,121if its not a high-quality flash card, you might need to switch to a better oneb,121cables might be the problem too. the bitrate setting can cause issues too. try testing different settings there.b,121b,121may even be the limiter... if the signal was WAY too high it could have just been cutting it out

    i have a microtrack ii. i am not a tech gear dude at all so i like it even more cuz its simple and ive never had a problem with it. of course, i dont really know how to do much besides record stuff and then dump it to computer. i remember there being a online manual or some such cuz the actual papers and shit they sent with it was real basic.

    Well two things I know here. My levels were def super loud although limiter was indeed set. 2nd is I do believe they gave me a cheap cf. I will see whats good. Thanks for the info. Oh and yes, skips like a scratched cd. All over the place.
