  • Johnny Adams - Reconsider Me - I had no idea how much Tom Jones sounded like Johnny Adams (or vice versa). The Welshman can't hit those falsetto notes though...

Not a big record, but I'm listening to "Just A Part Of Life" by The Five Crowns and it's pretty dope. Good enough to run the inst. flip.

Horst Jankowski - WackWack - from a common cheap European LP called A Walk Through The Evergreens - a pleasent surprise as his other records are mostly crap

This one song that the dude from Dungen played on Sunday in his little CD DJ set. Sounded like Bent Wind, but much heavier. Damn, I have to know what that was. Every 4 bars ended with some shout/scream sound. Heavy ass garage.

Hangman Hang My Shell On A Tree by Spooky Tooth

This is a song that was used by Fassbinder in one of my favourite films of his called Beware of a Holy Whore. I've been looking for the song for years. All I had to go on was the credits of the film which said "Music by Leonard Cohen, Elvis Presley and Spooky Tooth". Not wanting to buy every Spooky Tooth album (Gary "Dreamweaver" Wright is the band, for Christ's sake), this song alluded me. I finally found a copy of Spooky Two, which is generally considered their best album, last week for 6 bucks and took a chance, because it came out a few years before the Fassbinder movie. Listened through the whole album going "Fuck this isn't the song. Fuck" until the very last song when the recognizable epic chorus came flooding in. Massive. Haven't been able to go a day without listening to it half a dozen times.
