font class="post"1b,121b,121You're welcome!b,121b,121b,121I'm not even sure what the most I've dropped on a record is honestly. Too much, I know that. The name of the game is moving your capital around till everything fits. Sell some raer to get some, don't eat lunch, whatever it takes.
b,121$100 seems to be my limit..those are the only records I have spent over $100 on that I can think of at the moment. I have shit tons of records worth more than $100, but I try and not to spend more than $100 per record...no regrets as to not throwing the loot around...I find that you will usually find it sooner or later for cheap, or find someone willing to trade it to you...I would rather sell records for loot than buy 'em for loot....

font class="post"1b,121b,121Good price. Surprised this doesn't go for more considering quality and rarity.b,121b,121Most I ever spent was $160 on a sealed JR Bailey. But I've traded for bigger records and am comfortable in the $100 range.
A woman brought in a small stack of the same 45. I wasn't sure what it was, but I knew it was hot. I gave her $25 and got her address. I sent her $900 after I sold each one.
font class="post"1b,121b,121CRUCIAL DISTINCTION.b,121b,121Blowing $300 in cash would take a lot of soul-searching. Blowing $300 in paypal cash? Different story!

font class="post"1b,121b,121Whoa. Talk about good karma. b,121b,121(So, um, what was the 45?)
Two I don't regret at all are:b,121b,121Placebo - Ball of eyes LP $300 (I think I outbid Rey on this one)b,121Stark reality $350 (like someone else in this thread said, i think that's a pretty good price)b,121b,121The other one I didn't have any qualms about dropping loot on was Dinha Mantha's Power, by far my favourite library record.

hahahaha...good question dj kan! anyway, you know more than most what I have spent on certain records, but I would say the ones I can remember off the top are Placebo-Ball of Eyes ($250), 100% Poison-$150, Harlem Pop Trotters-$200 to name a few. Mind you I paid these prices over 10 years ago...but I have no regrets at allb,121b,121amir

b,121b,121good man, good man b,121b,121h,121b,121b,121b,121great to hear stories like this. not to knock anybodys hustle, get that paper!!!b,121but when records are sourced/come to you and the seller is so unaware of the going rate and you pay like $10 per...then turn around and flip 20 copies for $300- 400 each...just on the strength if it were me...id break em back off with a total of what i sold one for.b,121b,121b,121supreme where you at on this ? enquiring minds want to know!b,121i think you are the most ballinest on the board...you outbid me on just about every piece ive bid on since june.b,121b,121b,121b,121b,121b,121

b,121b,121So that's anywhere between $2,000 to $4,000 a pop.b,121b,121Did you send her $900 per copy you sold? b,121b,121h,121b,121b,121I should have done something I usually don't do. I should have asked how much she wanted for them. Then she would have been setting the price. b,121b,121But I set the price, so I felt responsible for it being a fair price. I sent her $900 after each one sold. b,121b,121Today I bought some oldies lps. Vg condition, Crest, Wanda Jackson, Shirells, Kathy Young, Gene Vincent. The only one I care about is Barbara George, what a great lp!b,121b,121Because these are not records I like and I don't like them clogging up my stock and I imagine they will take forever to sell, I bought them cheap. b,121b,121But those 45s were special.

Quote:/font1h,121b,121 we can go on and on about expensive records we got for cheap...how about the most yall have spent on that 1 (maybe 100) record you had no qualms about dropping loot on.b,121b,121h,121
b,121b,121I'm wondering what are the 12"s that you and everyone else here may have splurged on as a DJ? Si1[/i]erato may have changed everything, but what about before? Those records where sometimes a single song is so hot it just makes the loot moot.b,121b,121Personally, I don't think I've dropped more than around $35 for a record to play out but there are definitely plenty that I would pay $100+ for...not that that's anywhere near what they might cost, however.

b,121b,121As far as I can tell MP3 deejaying has only affected prices on rap 12s, which have taken a nosedive.
Hahaha. I really can't see myself spending 4 figures on a record. When we're talking about thimgs like the Soul Expedition Lp, if it's $1000 vs $20 for a reissue, I'm all about saving myself $980.
The only thing I've ever dropped 4 figures on is automobilesb,121b,121b,121RAEL TALKb,121b,121b,121I've traded for three-figure records, I've sold three-figure records... but I don't believe I've ever spent that much on one record. b,121b,121I'm from the south, we don't have them booo-tique record shops 'round here.
