b,121In the movie, Howard played Jim Rhodes, Tony Stark/Iron Man's best friend and future armor-clad hero War Machine. One scene featured Howard looking at a silver suit of armor and saying "Next time," a line that caused great delight for fans.

b,121Marvel had no comment, but sources close to the deal said negotiations with Howard fell through over financial differences, among other reasons. Marvel, which had wanted to work with Cheadle, then decided to take the role in another direction and approached the actor, who is shooting Antoine Fuqua's "Brooklyn's Finest" with Richard Gere and Ethan Hawke.

    I haven't seen Iron Man yet, so I don't know the implications of this role switch. I like Don Cheadle a lot, so I'm not mad. b,121b,121b,121I don't know the details, of course, but it surprises me that Terrance Howard is beefing about money. Is it me, or has dude been in like every single movie that's come out in the last two years? He's got to be paid out the rectum.

He's still got enough name recognition that he can jump back into the scene anytime he wants. I'd rather he be selective than follow the route Ice Cube took and begin appearing in family films.
