Must be the age thing, I was a Senior in HS when that came out, not in elementary school as another poster mentioned. AJfA was the first one I bought as a "new release" and the build-up and subsequent dissapointment tied to the Black Album was massive.

At the meeting spot, I ran into a friend and in youthful silliness we showed our disdain for a white stretch limo that was parked by leaning on it while we spoke. I was early, so we walked around and then said good-bye. As I approached the meeting spot, the driver comes around and opens the limo door, says my name and does the get-in hand thing. Huh? I was totally confused. I look in and the guy is in there. I was horrified. I didn???t want to get in, I didn???t want to go to the show with him anymore, it was all just so terrible. I had to get in. We drove around and around and didn???t get anything to eat because I just didn???t want to be seen getting in and out of that thing. I insisted we not get out in front of the venue and he head banged through the whole show. After, I really wanted to take transit home, but short of saying ???this is f*cking lame???, what reason could I give? He pulled some weird rockstar attitude in the limo (not in a girl-boy way, but he had a weird pumped air about him). I finally got dropped off and years later when we saw each other on the street, we pretended not to know each other. The show was OK, but who really knows, I was too distracted by dying on the inside.

Both bands lost it at around the same point. All those first 5 Megadeth albums have good tracks. Just not that Anarchy In the UK cover thanks. There were kids at my school who almost had heavy metal gangs & nearly came to blows arguing over who was the better band out of Metallica & Megadeth back then. Funny shit.
