who's left to honour anyways? Havent they pretty much ran thru the list of the greats? Who was honoured at this one?

  • this year it was naughty by nature apparently.b,121b,121and julez santana didn't bother to listen to the song before performing it.

I thought it was dope when Fat Joe came out dressed as circa 92 B-Real.

  • the show had it's moments. It was mostly bad. It's still worth watching to see the guys do their little press kits and talk about things back then and how they feel now. b,121b,121Fat joe might have been one of the best people to do a tribute. It's like he actually cared. Juelz, awkward. Busta was hard to understand and he ended up forgetting the lyrics at the end. b,121b,121I haven't seen Tribe since 1997, but why does Q-Tip always get so over the top. he just yells. Maybe it's fun when you're in the audience. Even De La was doing some weird renditions of their own songs. I never understand why artists flip the rhyme pattern to classic songs. Maybe they are tired of doing it the old way, but it's kind of strange to sing along to a song you've heard 100 times and the rapper has changed the inflection to a whole new pattern.b,121b,121Tracy Morgan is funny. b,121b,121The other thing, it premiered at 10 o clock on a Monday. The people who would watch this show are not teeny boppers. They are people who have jobs and aren't really thinking about staying up until midnight on Monday night to watch VH1. b,121b,121It still had some moments though. I was wondering if Dave was bugging watching Chuck D do his verse to stakes is high. The funniest part was when Vinnie yelled out to Eve "you lookin good girl, you lookin good." Also, in all the interviews Kay Gee looks like he's not that hyped to be reunited with treach and vinnie.

The Cypress performance was the best of the show.b,121b,121And De Le has been doing that "We hate this song" since 96 with "Me Myself And I."

font class="post"1b,121b,121yeah that was really apparent. pretty awkward.

  • I don't think they get along.b,121b,121Maybe Big Boi had a bad night, but he can definitely freestyle. I've seen it.

font class="post"1b,121b,121Yes, but his performance was just plain img src="http://www.thickjawns.com/the_jumpoff/images/smilies/picard.png"1b,121b,121Juelz was even worse. Like, atrocious.

  • was that mack one-oh on the cypress tributeb,121he did ok but kind of akward, like he was trying too hard to get the lyrics right

  • The Too Short tribute was just uncomfortable.b,121b,121The Isaac Hayes thing was a wash too, with the exception of Cee-Lo singing "The Look of Love".

  • i didn't think it was that bad. of course there were akward and bad moments, but all in all "i kind of liked it".b,121b,121jim jones was surprisingly good. the whole cypress tribute/performance was probably the best, but de la was great. cee lo did his thing on "pot holes" for sure, even though he looked like he was about to roll out to never-neverland with peter pan and them. seeing empd and chuck run through some joints must have been surreal for de la. b,121b,121the slick rick thing was odd, mostly because fab and whoever he was with totally botched the whole thing and who ever was djing had the songs on like plus 6. isn't "mona lisa" fast enough?b,121b,121too short's thing would've been 100 times better on the west coast. naughty by nature was feeling themselves a little too hard.b,121b,121tracy is the man. b,121b,121these things always are weak in one way because of the format and vh-one control, but all in all they are always fun too watch...in my opinion.

font class="post"1b,121b,121And who was the genius who picked Eve to handle "Mona Lisa"? img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wtf.gif" alt="" 21b,121b,121They should have just get Ghost and Biz do "La-Di-Da-Di" in its entirety.

  • I've been sick, but i caught the slick rick part. THe DJ gets a giant gasface for ruining the night. The instrumentals on 45 ruined the whole thing.

I thought this was one was the best in the series so far.b,121Not much to complain about,Mack 10 & Fat Joe did a good job in the Cypress tribute.b,121Everyone involved in the Slick Rick portion did poorly imo.

  • Just watched this on TiVo.b,121b,121No one in New York knows what Too $hort's favorite word is.
