Everyone knows about Loronix, but I dunno how many of you are up on this. I've found a grip of good stuff on here. Some of the links are dead, but it's definitely worth exploring.

I love "Misterio do planeta" & "A menina danca".

This is f*cking amazing. Much tougher than the version on Acabou Chorare.

thanks for this- i really appreciate it! im downloading the album now and will tell you if it works when it finishes. Has anybody heard/got madlib's new brazilian cd Speto Da Rua- dirty brazilian crates volume 1- it looks promising- its from the same mochilla series that released J Rocc's cooking ingredients and Nuts' Embalo Jovem!

Can anyone identify the song that plays 2 songs after the Jose Mauro track on Madlbs Speto Da Rua mix.

It has a girl and a guy singing at the same time and the end chorus is like..

    Uso....
    Voce...
    Voce...
    Uso...

I'd love to check out the rest of that album.

JoeMojo and some other strutter already did up a full tracklist for the DJ Nuts mix. Should pop up on a search.

Y'all need to be getting with Edu Lobo - Misse Breve...really great.

IMO while I buy a lot of tropicalia and 70s stuff, some of the best titles are 60s samba releases on Elenco and Phillips. Nara is the shit.

  • i think you're on about the cultura copia mix, i want to do a tracklist for his latest mix- embalo jovem. on the misse breve LP- i love it! ive been looking for a copy of Nara but all i can find is shit reissues and bootlegs.

Yeah her LPs aren't as easy to find as a lot of other, similar artists from that era...still trying to find super clean copies for myself.

sayin'- brazil lps are so hard to come by in the UK anyway, i end up importing most of my medium raers from brazil itself and pay the ridiculous postage fees the dealers set. If you want super clean records- get to know japanese dealers, they'll charge nearly top dollar but you can guarantee that you'll get a NM lp if they say its NM.

I love the Fender Rhodes on this record. Though this record was recorded by French and Argentinian artists, it sounds Brazilian.

If I'm not wrong, Candeias is an argentinean group with
    a brazilian member.

You're quite right and also a member from Uruguay. It was the Dusty Groove listing on the cd which said that one of them was from Europe (http://www.dustygroove.com/item.php?id=9g6s9wz8gz&ref=featured.php&refQ=cat=2)

I've recently been speaking with Guillermo Reuter, it's been nice finding out about the recording sessions. It turns out he now works in a bank in Buenos Aires.
