While most of it is 12 year olds playin flutes, there is one song called "soul improvisation" where the school children don't kill it, but play a nice soul instrumental that sounds more like 68 than 78. Never seen before or after, ungoogeable. Was a gift from a local record shop. Sygaire,1holler, will be in Berlin next month img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" 21 img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerbang.gif" alt="" 21

From my hometown, too! They were a well known band, but this was only pressed in about 500 copies total, and is stupidly expensive, especially locally.b,121b,121I love it mostly for the cover.1It is the only record on my wall (pun inteneded).

img src="http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c394/marcmoke/Untitled-1copy.jpg"1b,121b,121The first is a record given to lady receptionists when they started work at Dollond and Aitchison (opticians). Presumably to patronise them into submission. (may not count as its a spoken word lp, with classical bits)b,121b,121The second is from Taiwan. I can't tell you much more about it. b,121Soul covers, each track has a drum breakdown/solo. In the vain of Jimmy Takeuchis' Drum Drum Drum series. b,121b,121The third is a privately pressed library lp. Sounds img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/oof.gif" alt="" 21 but in reality its kinda img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ehh.gif" alt="" 21b,121It says it's the 3rd issue, but I 've never seen any of the others, can't imagine they were pressed in great quantities. b,121b,121b,121None of which are expensive-raer or likely to be reissued by Daptone Records.

  • Have not seen many of these around. Sweet roots music at its very best. Even tracked them down and found out they live right in my backyard in brooklyn. b,121b,121b,121img src="http://roots-archives.com/artwork/albums/7363.jpg"1

i have a record called Mashin' Myself by Charles Hilton Brown.1It was recorded before the Owed to Myself LP.1There's only a test pressing with a drawn cover.1I found it in Italy. A friend of mine works in a book store in Venice and a guy buying books from him was the recording engineer.1He gave me the copy, because I paid for books he wanted.1He sent the record to my hotel. b,121b,121I like the record better than the Owed to Myself. It's totally psyched out Funk.
