b,121b,121Well, the full quote is no big deal. But wingnuts have cut it down to about 10 seconds to make it appear as: "OMG! Obama admits he's a secret Moo-slem!"b,121b,121I swear, American politics is trying to kill me.

b,121b,121I believe you underestimate our past collective stupidity.

  • This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. At this point in the game if Obama farts, they will spin that.

pretty damn tepid. I assume the the interviewer asked about the mischaracterizations that he's a muslim...totally out of context when you dont show the question.

  • We're working on a story about undecided voters in Michigan and earlier today we interviewed this young woman. We asked her why she would consider voting for McCain and she answers. We asked her why she would consider voting for Obama and she answers "actually, I dont think I will be voting for him as they say he's a muslim".b,121b,121I know its not related to this news clip from earlier in this thread but Im still in shock!b,121b,121Peace,b,121b,121Dress

  • The true colors of the majority of the Republican party show through in this story:b,121b,121b,121Student GOP leader resigns over Obama remarkb,121By MICHAEL RUBINKAM, Associated Press Writerb,121b,121The leader of a statewide group of college Republicans has been forced to resign after posting racially insensitive comments about Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama on the Internet.b,121b,121Adam LaDuca, 21, the former executive director of the Pennsylvania Federation of College Republicans, wrote on his Facebook page in late July that Obama has "a pair of lips so large he could float half of Cuba to the shores of Miami (and probably would.)"b,121b,121LaDuca, who previously had called Martin Luther King Jr. a "pariah" and a "fraud," also wrote: "And man, if sayin' someone has large lips is a racial slur, then we're ALL in trouble."b,121b,121The College Republicans asked LaDuca to resign after his remarks were publicized by the Pennsylvania Progressive, a blog written by a Democratic committeeman from Berks County. The group announced LaDuca's resignation on its Web site Friday.b,121b,121"The comments were completely uncalled for and very offensive," said Anthony Pugliese, 22, a senior at West Chester University and chairman of the College Republicans, an umbrella group with more than 50 chapters statewide. "The P-A College Republicans do not accept or tolerate racism in any way."b,121b,121LaDuca said Monday that he regrets posting the comments and understands how they can be construed as racist. "In hindsight, when you read it a second time, it's like, 'oops,'" he said. "It was just a dumb move on my part to make a statement like that public."b,121b,121He said he is not a racist and that he admires prominent blacks such as economist and author Thomas Sowell and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. He compared the comment about Obama to jokes about Republican presidential nominee John McCain's thinning hair or President Bush's large ears.b,121b,121LaDuca is a senior at Kutztown University. Two years ago, Kutztown's College Republicans chapter was heavily criticized for holding a "bake sale" to protest affirmative action in which whites were charged more for cookies than blacks. LaDuca, then the group's spokesman, made a public apology on the group's behalf.b,121b,121Copyright ?? 2008 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. font class="post"1b,121b,121For real. He'd better get some sleep before the debates, or he's toast vs. McCain's empty "DEFEAT EVIL" boldness. Stupid Americans those pieces of shit for breakfast (cue Shooter McGavin).

font class="post"1b,121b,121Just been reading the readers comments....damn theres alot of ignorant hateful people that listen to FOX (and funny how all the Obama haters where the ones who are barely literate). I could understand people not suppporting him for political reasons, but it just seems like a whole bunch of people are waiting for any excuse to hate on him and not vote for him... b,121b,121The way i look at it, if he really was sus he would have changed his name before he got into politics, cus even before 911 Im sure a muslim name wouldnt be a great selling point to the public, so if the dude is keeping his real name, to me it gives him more credability.

American politics is so sad. You have one of two choices: a Republican or a Democrat, and that's it! b,121b,121Is this a 'healthy' democracy? Is this the nation that wants to spread democracy to the rest of the world?b,121b,121Don't get me wrong: I love Americans. But the US political system is pathetic.b,121b,121Deal.

I mean every word of it. Politics can't and shouldn't be reduced to a dichotomy. It's true that no political system is perfect, but a multi-party system is stronger and closer to an actual democracy than the binary US system.b,121b,121Think about it.
