b,121b,121Am I the only one here who rides for this album? It's a step down from its predecessors, but I still think it's a very good album.b,121b,121(Also, in what may prove to be an even more unpopular opinion, I ain't mad at the drum sounds on that album. I thought they worked very well for the style of drumming Lars was busting out back then.) b,121b,121h,121
b,121b,121yeah, but it inspried years of plastic-spoon-hitting-mashed-potatoes kick drum sounds

b,121b,121b,121No doubt due to the exposure of "One" to an audience who had not looked any deeper than Hysteria[/b]. Looking back, ...And Justice For All[/b] is a good album but for an album that was meant to be the formal introduction of Jason Newsted, it was as if he wasn't there. The $5.98 EP[/b] was a lot better for a record that was "Not Produced".

  • Justice is almost as good as the previous two, songwriting-wise. Amazing riffs, rhythm work, and arrangements...very pissed off. But yeah, it's very dry, with drum triggers, and there is no bass. Zero.b,121b,121Listening to the new one now, it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

b,121b,121b,121I was just about to say this. Strong material, garbage production. b,121b,121b,121Kirk's solo on the title track? img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/melt.gif" alt="" 21

Honestly, AJFA and $5.98 EP are probably my 2 favorite Metallica records. I know I am firmly in the minority, but I love the over the top tech-ness of Justice (and I think the production suits it, it wouldn't sound right with heavier guitars), and I love the lo-fi punkiness of the $5.98 EP. When they have more typical "metal" production they bore me.

b,121b,121b,121Really? I think the guitars on Justice sound fine. It's the no bass-having and weak-drums sounding thing. And it's so dry to the point of claustrophobia-inducing. Metal like this shouldn't be over-produced, but it needs to breathe a little. If it had been done like Master it would be great.b,121b,121Again, don't get me wrong. It's a great record, but the production choices were straight wtf?, especially after Lightning and Master. Didn't the same guy produce all those records? what happened?

  • justice is a GREAT album. fuk the double bass drum pedal haters. i read in an interview along time ago that the reason for the the thin production is that they wanted it to sound good on a sony walkman or cheap stereo.

b,121b,121Considering the protesting they've done in the last 10 years, they should be proud that they're the innovators of shit.b,121b,121 img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dominoes22.gif" alt="" 21

b,121b,121AJFA is a great album, not as good as the 3 previous studio LPs, but still pretty aggro. I put the fall of Metallica square on this douchetard's shoulders:b,121b,121b,121b,121Mr.Hetfield, how can you go from having a "Kill Bon Jovi" sticker on your guitar to having the man who produced that tepid garbage produce a number of your albums, and even play bass in the studio for you?b,121b,121b,121 img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nagl2.gif" alt="" 21
