No, not the Bakshi flick. This one:I'm listening to the soundtrack by Dizzy Gillespie and Mal Waldron now. Nice little jazz score. Wondering about the film itself. Has anyone here seen it?Hasn't been released on DVD, unfortunately.Story sounds interesting. Drama with a docu feel set in Harlem in the early 60s.Apparently the NYT reviewer at the time thought it was"marred a little by a too-free use of four-letter words".I guess it was a little too for '64.

    Apparently this was his first film project (as a producer).

    One of my favorites... A raw semi-documentary about a young guy trying to score a gun in Harlem in the mid-60s.

    Those of you in NYC can pick it up at the video store on 125th near the Apollo.

    See it if you get an opportunity - feels somewhat improvised in parts - have a sneaking suspicion that bits of dialogue were employed by Marc Mac for his 'How About a Game of Chess' project.
