    Chan,

In Shanghai, hit up street food and hole in the wall restaurants. There's this really famous dumpling spot inside an old temple complex, now a tourist trap - it's cool but honestly: you don't need it. You can get pretty kick ass dumplings everywhere in the city.

I'd actually really recommend you using the opportunity to get regional Chinese food not available in the states. Check guidebooks or online or hit up Gary Wang at The Lab: http://www.myspace.com/vnutz

That's my man and he knows how to grub out there.

in seoul, go to the rodeo street area in Apujeong. lots of happenings at night there and really good restaurants. there's this one restaurant that they serve all the soju in whatever flavor fruit it is except grape, that's just a huge pitcher of soju filled with grapes. they had really good food at that place too. it was called FAS. see some sights though, cause the nightlife isn't all that great. i mean it can be fun, but every club was a top 40 clurb.

: pagging asser : for food recommendations in shanghai. the food's no joking out there!

nightlife wise, i would say you should hit up a KTV atleast once. when aser & i went, we didn't indulge in much of club bangery type stuff. we did however peep an emcee battle with a chinese-speaking nate dogg rappy guy, and another guy who thought he was jin. another night we ended up at some spot where they had some dreadlocked german false rastas with the fake patois agwan. it was surreal!

a friend of mine does stuff at this club called bon bon that has a rotation of nights happening. i'll see what she recommends, and ask her for some sort of nightlife guide online.

    E,

Thank you for the club info. The Chinese Nate Dogg dude sounds like some real comedy! I want to drink some Hennessey with him and his crew. The one Aser already sent me a list of places to eat in Shanghai. He was the first person I contacted when I got my itinerary. LOL
